WHO IS AIM?
My name is Aigin Larki (Eye-gheen Lar-key), founder of AIM and a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Vancouver, BC. I am of Turkic Iranian descent, speak conversational French and Farsi, and bring a multicultural lens shaped by my experience growing up in Canada.
I began my work in 2008 through intensive clinical hypnotherapy training, which led to completing my BA and Master’s in Counselling Psychology at UBC. I continue to study trauma therapy, neuroscience, somatic psychology, and mind–body approaches to stay current with evidence-based therapeutic practices.
I am neurodivergent-affirming and support clients with ADHD, trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, immigration and relocation stress, relationship issues, and challenges around belonging. I work with both individuals and couples to help them build connection, confidence, and internal calm.
WHY THERAPY?
People seek therapy for many reasons—anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship conflict, life transitions, burnout, or a sense of feeling “stuck.” Others come when life is stable but not fulfilling, hoping to create deeper meaning and emotional wellbeing.
Therapy provides a space to understand patterns, heal past experiences, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with your values. Whether you’re navigating stress or seeking personal growth, therapy can help you move toward a more grounded and authentic life.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?
Sessions may focus on day-to-day stress, past trauma, emotional regulation, relationship patterns, or future goals. Your comfort, readiness, and pace guide the process.
My approach is Emotion-Focused, Solution-Oriented, and Trauma- and Nervous-System-Informed. I help you explore emotions as valuable information, strengthen your ability to regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with internal resources that support meaningful change and long-term resilience.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
I integrate research-backed, neuroscience-informed modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, OEI, bilateral stimulation, somatic and nervous system regulation, EFT, focusing, mindfulness, and clinical hypnotherapy.
Together we explore how past and current experiences shape your emotional and physiological responses. We identify protective patterns, trauma imprints, and stress responses—and develop tools to help you feel safer, calmer, and more aligned with the life you want to create.
